I have so many followers. Okay, scratch that. It is part of the rules however, that I mention this giveaway on my blog and even though I don't have a TON of followers, I will gladly tell my chosen few. :)
I recently began following
Melissa's Heart and Home blog. I love it! Her decorating tastes are a lot like mine! Even hubby (who was reading over my shouder) mentioned that. Below is a photo of her giveaway....

....so if any of those items catch your eye, head on over there and sign up to follow her, leave her a comment and then mention it to your friends in your next blog post. Or don't. Maybe I'll have a better chance of winning. :)

I have been wanting an old window for a very long time, but if you hadn't noticed, what some people were so happy to get rid of a few years ago, has become a very hot item...with a price tag to match! I'm not one to justify spending 3 times the original value for an item just because it is ancient, so I kept waiting.

The other day, my dream came true and my good friend Heather came to see me bringing with her a very old, dirty, ugly window. I immediately saw a window of opportunity. :) I actually think it has a beauty all it's own just the way it is pictured here.

I couldn't leave it quite so wretched looking, so I took it to the garage and washed, sanded, primed, painted and then sanded some more. (Oops! better give the hubster credit for the first hose washing and some of the sanding...just in case he reads this). He receives no credit for any of the painting, and he did not make the little window valance where the broken glass came out.

He did help me hang it though, and yes...I know I am mixing styles a bit here, but we are moving soon and I really didn't want to go to too much trouble re-decorating. Besides, I rather like it...and I hear that 'matchy-matchy' is not all so 'in' right now anyway. :)

I love the character of the old, chippy, peeling paint look.

.......and by old, I don't mean old in years, I mean old like I have known them like
f.o.r.e.v.e.r! I think I have only seen Norma maybe two other times in my whole life, but she and Jack have
ALWAYS been a part of my life! Growing up, I don't think she ever missed a birthday. Graduation came and she remembered. Wedding day...a gift was there. She sends my children e-cards on their birthdays and when they met for the first time last Saturday...she knew all their names and ages! She's amazing! Not only that, but all these years, I know she has been praying for me! It was so fun having them in our home for breakfast! We all say, "Please come again soon!"
