Project time and a 5 month old boy!

My husband came home with a pallet the other day, that looked just like a flag. Well, sort of. I knew right away what I wanted to do with it. I had the white and blue paint, so for the cost of a can of red spray paint, this is what we came up with. It was super fast and fun--just the kind of project I love!

My daughter's dog helped me got in my way, but when we were all done, he was pretty proud and wanted his picture taken by it....almost like he really thought he did help.

Little Boy Blue is 5 months old now. He weighs 18.5 pounds. He rolls everywhere and can sit when he's not too busy trying to crawl! He's had his first cold and it's nearly broken my heart! We have all taken a turn with it and I think aside from some lingering coughs, might be mostly on the mend now.

The girls are done with another school year!  Their SAT grades came back, and I am so proud of the job they did! They all tested above grade level by a few years--or more!

Now I will have all kinds of free time. Haha! Not really! We have planted a garden again and I have lots of other projects to catch up on. I decided to tackle the most unpleasant today. Mending.

Mostly, I am excted for the time out of doors. Camping sounds WONDERFUL about now! I have to remember that just because I am out of a "job" for a few months, does not mean my husband is. Smile.
How about you? What does your summer schedule hold?

Mother's Day

I know Mother's Day is about honoring your mother--and that I do--but I always have to take a minute to celebrate BEING a mom too! It's one of life's very greatest blessings in my book!

The men in our lives are a HUGE part of Mother's Day too! A good husband and father certainly makes being a good mommy much easier!

We can't forget the friends in our lives who share this mommy road with us!

A few days before Mother's Day, my sweet momma brought me the supplies to make each lady in our church a little coursage. They have a very special meaning too. There were red carnations to honor out mother's still with us, white for the memory of those gone on, pink rose buds for our daughters and little blue wildflowers for our sons.

Another little shot of me and my blessings.

My momma and my Little Boy Blue

And finally....
The three generations. I was so blessed by the mom God gave me!

My kids (Oh, and dog) also have a pretty amazing Grandma!

Here are the fun little Mother's Day gifts the girls and I made for some of the special moms and ladies in our lives. On top of the canning jar, we made a little pin cushion.

These are some of the goodies that were inside. I've already heard from one mom who said the patch came in handy. Smile.

We wrote a little poem on the notecards enclosed that references the particular items in the jar.

The pastor's message Sunday carried on the theme of "sewing" by exploring the life of Dorcus. I pray that the stiches I make in the lives of my children are sure and careful and the love and prayers I give, help to keep their lives from unraveling.

Just for fun....but being mom to these fantastic kids, does make me smile!
