Repurposing

Silly me. Something I have been wanting for about 5 years now is an old metal tea cart. My mother had a yellow one when I was growing up and I thought it was so cool then. I didn't want to spend $150 for a brand new replica or even $95 on etsy for a re purposed one, so I just kept looking. Casually. See, I am not a shopper--I don't go places--I stay home and do all that "boring" stuff that I love, like cooking, cleaning and teaching. Anyway, last Saturday, we were driving through our neighborhood, and let me tell you--it's not fancy--and we saw a junk sale. I'm talking total junk. But.....this little gem was over to the side screaming my name. It was mine for $5! Probably a little steep for the shape it was in, but I was desperate! My sweet hubby did the hard work of dis-assembling it and using naval jelly on the rust spots. I was amazed at how the rust came off! I got the fun job of painting. Spray paint is so therapeutic. Smile.

The old pennzoil oil can is a treasure hubby brought home from work. We really needed an end table and an added bonus is the fact that hubby is from Pennslvania! It cleaned up great and we gave it a new lid. This is an older project that I think I forgot to post. Lots of things got lost in our crazy summer shuffle.
