WHOOO!?!?!

Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
James 3:13
Owls are all the rage. Did you know that? I've fallen for them. Honestly, my hubby about freaked when I told him I was looking for an owl the other day. I think he was thinking of the 70's owls....beautiful weren't they?
My Grandma had owls. Lots of them. And, they. were. ugly. Now I wish I had them though, because ugly is something spray paint can fix! (although I doubt very much that Grandma would agree, lol)
The owl nursery theme is just almost cute enough to make we want another baby. Almost. But not.
And the pillows....Oh, my! DIY world is currently full of owls!
For now, I settled on the little guy at the top of the page. Yeah...he was 1/2 off at the thrift store and all gold and brown. Just look at him now. Love him. And he keeps reminding me that a wise man shows his wisdom best through conversation and deportment.
In fact, Clarke said this, "Who is a wise man - One truly religious; who, although he can neither bridle nor tame other men's tongues, can restrain his own.
And endued with knowledge - And qualified to teach others.
Let him show - Let him by a holy life and chaste conversation show, through meekness and gentleness, joined to his Divine information, that he is a Christian indeed; his works and his spirit proving that God is in him of a truth; and that, from the fullness of a holy heart, his feet walk, his hands work; and his tongue speaks. We may learn from this that genuine wisdom is ever accompanied with meekness and gentleness. Those proud, overbearing, and disdainful men, who pass for great scholars and eminent critics, may have learning, but they have not wisdom. Their learning implies their correct knowledge of the structure of language, and of composition in general; but wisdom they have none, nor any self-government. They are like the blind man who carried a lantern in daylight to keep others from jostling him in the street. That learning is not only little worth, but despicable, that does not teach a man to govern his own spirit, and to be humble in his conduct towards others."
"Whoo" would have thought it?

Back to School!

Today is our first day back for the new school year! So far, it has gone great! I am hoping the year continues that way! I got one of my migraines yesterday, so I've been a little sluggish today from the meds last night. Not so with the 4 below...
We are completely enjoying our "new" classroom! It must be conducive to good study habits, because they were done with a days work by 1pm! I KNOW that's not going to last. :)
Here we all are. Even Kaite has her learning "material." Please don't worry--the potty chair insert she is holding is clean. She is just pretty proud of her latest accomplishment, and so am I!
Kaite telling us what she has to do during class.
"Shhh!"
Kammy is my most excited student! She is only 5, but so anxious to learn. Here she is practicing her letters. I heard her quitely saying to herself, "I can do this, I can do this, I can..."

In one corner of our class, we have an old step ladder/bookshelf. I'm lovin' it!
"Each little letter in it's place..."
Kayla~ 8th grade!
Kalli~ 4th grade!
Kammy~ 1st grade!
Mom has a busy year ahead of her, huh?
I think I'll pick up Kammy's chant,
"I can do this, I can do this, I can.....
ZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!"

Tiny Talk Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I'm linking up again for tiny talk.
I braided 3 of the girls' hair together the other day~might be a good way to keep track of them. :)
We went on a little family outing over Labor Day. Here Kammy was taking a break and as she said, "putting this day on the memory pages on in brain."
We are crazy busy getting ready to start back to school tomorrow. Some of us are much more excited than others. lol
Kaite is still doing FANTASTIC with her potty training. You can read about it all here.
And then there is also this incident last night....
12:22am. THUMP! The potty chair hits my bad and a little voice says, "What do wif this?"
Um...yeah....I guess she's trained. :)
