Window Love

Maybe you remember my old window? A friend gave it to me in exchange for doing a little sewing and as much as I hate sewing....this was a GOOD exchange. VERY good. I LOVE my window! When we moved, it moved and the new spot was just lacking something. I was thinking some "words" would help, but wasn't quite sure what they should say. Finally...it hit me...perfect for a country kitchen and personalized as well!
Karen's Rise & Shine Cafe
I ordered them with some of my Christmas money and they work. Perfect.
I have finally parted with the Christmas decor. This is always so hard for me to do. I LOVE Christmas and never quite get enough of it. The only way I convinced myself was with putting up the Valentine's stuff.
Actually, I don't have a lot, but it's enough for a little here and there and adds that "lovey" touch that would otherwise be filled with the January/February blahs.
Speaking of Valentines...my little one has found a great pass-time while having her hair washed. Reading really seems to keep you from worrying so much about getting water in your eyes and ears.
She's so much fun (usually) and I LOVE being her mommy!

Of Cowgirl parties and tiny talk

I was busy with the birthday girl (and a few other "little" things) yesterday so I am late for tiny talk but wanted to join in anyway so I am combining it with the birthday report. Kammy decided she wanted to decorate her own cake this year. A cowboy cake is hard to mess up too bad and I thought she did really well anyway. The chocolate cake was a great choice because the messy spots just looked like dirt. Here she is adding some grassy sprinkles.
She chose pizza for her birthday dinner. Pepperoni from Papa Murphy's is her favorite! She told Grandma on Sunday that she was going to start eating good food once she turned 5, but when I mentioned it yesterday at lunch, she said that was not "starting until she blew out the candles". Later, she told us that starting at all was a "maybe" a BIG maybe!
She really enjoyed her special day except for when she and her sister got in a little arguement. She said, "Kalli hirt my feelings on my special day of all things!"
I found the banner on clearance a while back at Hobby Lobby and then we just sort of "shopped the house" for western items and put together a fun little birthday vignette. Not a lot of detail in the picture here, but plates were stacked in a cowboy hat, root beer was placed in the birdcage pokey along with a wanted poster and we borrowed a pine tree from the family room. Then there was the little lantern and of course, we used red bandanas for decor too.
5 is such a fun age and Kammy was so cute and thankful for her gifts. I love that she is such a polite little gal.
Here is her wanted poster! I thank God for this beautiful little piece of Heaven on loan.

Even Kaite got involved in the festivities. She was so excited about a birthday. Here she is practicing the word "birthday". She's also learned the word for gun...only she calls it a "die". If that offends you, I apoligize. You'd really have to live "Out West" to understand. :)

One more for tiny talk...this from Kalli while eating hot dogs for lunch, "Please pass the bottle of tomatoes". (that would be ketchup...in case anyone is wondering)

Today's Walk Down Memory Lane

What a lovely little surprise graced our home 5 years ago! Kamilla Dayle (Kammy) named "Dale" for two of my uncles and one of hers.
Our first and only baby to sleep through the night from 11 weeks on!
Kammy is friendly and cheerful although she will not hesitate to give her opinion.
She is a little junk food junkie.
Horses are her VERY most favorite animal. She lives and dreams them!
Happy Birthday, Kammy! Our whole family loves you soooo much!

Birthday Photos of the Cowgirl!

Here are some of my favorites of Kammy's Birthday photos. I love this one of her and Rancher. It is so natural...so her!
She's getting all grown up on me!
She looks a lot like her daddy....and more like his sister, Aunt Rhonda. Here I think she looks like pictures of me when I was little though!
She and Rancher have a lot of fun together. I am anxious for summer when they can have ALL their "fun" outside. :)
We have a little party planned for this Tuesday. Birthdays are special at our house. Not spendy especially...just special. Birthday girls always get to choose the supper menu and a cake flavor. This year, Kammy is decorating her own chocolate cake! (Should be fun!)
I have birthday pictures of all the girls, beginning with "month birthdays" to a year and then yearly pictures from there up. The last several years, I have done their pictures myself....I like the prices better and usually the results as well!
