I want to move you with this post. No, not really. I have my hands full just moving me.
I'm going to say something that may shock you, "I really don't mind moving! (at least not for the most part)"
We have been married almost 14 years and this is our 6th move. Moving gives me a chance to clean in areas that might rarely if ever get cleaned otherwise. It also gives me a chance to re-organize and get rid of stuff we don't use or need. Finally, it gives me a guilt-free excuse to do a little re-decorating. I think that really might be the best part. The house we are moving to is totally unlike anything we have ever lived in and I think it is going to be both challenging and fun!

Some areas of my house appear untouched while others are looking pretty bare. I try to keep the most lived-in areas in tact until the last minute. It just makes me feel less like I am living out of boxes. The girls have been huge helpers and we are pretty much right on schedule. I needed a few more boxes for things like books and glassware so I sent hubby to the liquor store. They have the best boxes for those purposes--for free.

I had to laugh though, when I saw this box. "Mom's boos" (supposed to be 'mom's books') in a Vodka box! :)

I have a great little box labeler. It's just that sometimes she gets a little carried away with the marker, and sometimes the spelling is humorous as well. Sometimes it looks as if SHE has been dipping in the vodka.

Kaite loves playing in the boxes and driving her car around them. Sometimes she runs into the labeler and that always causes a bit of drama. Maybe she should lay off the 'boos'

I love my kids!
They make life interresting and ever so much better. They also make many, many more boxes to pack!

Well, you know me--can't go too long without a FO! Packing and moving--not to mention teaching. But....I REALLY needed a soap dispenser for the kitchen. I was making salsa the other day and the canning jars got me to thinking..."Why not make a canning jar soap dispenser out of stuff I have around here?" By the time my salsa was done, all my jars were filled though, so I went to Goodwill and bought this one. The design is 'quilted crystal'. I simply asked hubby to drill a 1/2 inch hole in a jar lid. Which he quickly did and I super glued the lid to the ring. Then I took the pump out of an old soap dispenser I had around here and glued it in the hole on the lid. I wrapped a little jute twine around the ring and filled 'er up with some lavender anti-bac soap. Ugh! Remind me not to buy that color again. :)

It works great and suits my country kitchen better than anything I was finding in the stores. Plus it only cost 49cents! When it comes time to refill it, I'll just unscrew the ring and fill 'er up. With a different color of soap--maybe clear! :)
I do have a few other finished objects--a vintagey shower curtain and a burlap one--but they are going to have to wait until we do those new house pics!

I have so many followers. Okay, scratch that. It is part of the rules however, that I mention this giveaway on my blog and even though I don't have a TON of followers, I will gladly tell my chosen few. :)
I recently began following
Melissa's Heart and Home blog. I love it! Her decorating tastes are a lot like mine! Even hubby (who was reading over my shouder) mentioned that. Below is a photo of her giveaway....

....so if any of those items catch your eye, head on over there and sign up to follow her, leave her a comment and then mention it to your friends in your next blog post. Or don't. Maybe I'll have a better chance of winning. :)

Kaite loves to be tickled on her tummy and under her arms whenever we change her clothes or diaper. She loves it so much in fact, that she has begun to do it to herself. It's a little bit hard to hear her in this video but if you turn those speakers WAY up you'll hear her saying, "A-ticka, ticka, ticka" as she tries to tickle herself!
Linking up for Tiny Talk.
