As mentioned in my last post, some of my tinies are not so tiny anymore.
Kayla is 14 now and getting ready for high school. Kammy asked if that meant she was moving out. I think she was thinking of college. Kayla graded at post high school level on her SAT's this year. I was proud of her--and me--AND our homeschool program!
Kalli did a fantastic job on her SAT's as well. She will be in fifth grade this fall and tested above average in all areas but one, where she was pretty much right on schedule. Kalli has to work a little harder than Kayla academically, but she is the most creative 9 year old I know!
Kammy graduated from 1st grade with an A+ average. She has been inspired to read over the summer because there is "so much to learn about horses!" When Kayla got her computer for her birthday, Kammy said, "Kayla! You even have your own arrow keys!" (Arrow keys are pretty important when you play computer games.) She has been very interested in learning about Biblical things here lately and was a little confused...."How can the trinity be 3 n 1, when 3 n 1 makes 4, not 3?"
Even little Babycakes is growing. I'm afraid I've neglected her just a bit being so sick here recently. One day she asked me, "Mommy, can I sit in a chair outside?" "Yes, of course," I told her. "I mean....can I sit in a chair and you sit in a chair aside me and we look at each other?" she said. Aww....what a sweet baby she is! I know I have mentioned it before, but she was, by far, our most challenging child. She refused to take "no" for an answer from the very day she was born. Recently though, she has done so much better and it makes my heart happy to see her learning in her toddler years, what some adults have yet to learn. She is my little garden buddy. She loves to help me work in the yard and garden. I'm not sure if she really loves the soil as much as I, or if it's just a time to connect with mommy, but either way, I am happy for the company.
Now for an update on the littlest angel....and yes, we DO have another girls name ready and waiting! I've done my share of complaining on my fb page, so I'll keep it to a minimum here, but it really frustrates me when people ask if we are "still trying for a boy" and such things. I've always felt sooo blessed just to be a mother that I never thought to question what God chose to give me. We have been completely thrilled every time and will be again regardless of the sex. After Kaite, someone asked my husband, "So--are you going to try again for a boy?" He said, "Probably not. We might mess up and get one!" Not that we have anything against boys, but it's frustrating when people think that is the reason you are having another child. I am starting to have better days here and there....still sick and still on meds around the clock, but making progress and getting fat. =) We got to see baby on ultrasound a few weeks ago. S/he looked amazing and was frantically waving "hello" to us. Thank you for all your sweet, kind comments and prayers. Our prayer is for a safe and healthy little one--I always love Christmas, but it really can't get here too soon this year! =)
