Camp Out!

This last week found us camping out for a few days on Cascade Lake.

The kids biked and fished and played in the water. Mom and Dad did a bit of relaxing and untangling fishing line and just enjoying family and rejuvenating our spirits and souls.

The weather was just beautiful. Perfect...not too hot or too cold most of the time.

Kaderick was bit by a poison spider a few weeks ago while camping out at Grampapa's house. We took camping to them since they can't get out too easily any more and it was enjoyed by all but we didn't realize until later when I took Kade for his yearly well check that the little bite on his leg was really quite serious. He seems to be recovering well which is a miracle in itself since we've often been told that he would like react worse to such things because of having masto. He handles it all like a champ. Such a brave little man!

How blessed we are to be the parents of this wild and wonderful tribe.

Just a bit of snow on those hills. You can tell it's almost July as you have to go higher and higher to find the white stuff.

Beautiful inside and out.

The sunsets were amazing. If you know me at all, you know I'd do a lot for a good sunset picture, but here I really had to do nothing but push the button. This was our view from pretty much every seat in the trailer and from the table, chairs, and screen tent outside too.

I love how you can see the smoke rising from fellow campers fires across the lake here.

There's just nothing like being in God's great outdoors that will make you appreciate his greatness all over again. The past couple of weeks have tried my patience I felt to the breaking point and this trip was so needed and so good for me.

We recently sold our well-loved '02 Yukon. It had been paid for 10+ years and Rick felt it was time to trade up a bit for a little newer vehicle with a bigger engine. This tough looking guy is our new ride. You probably wouldn't even notice if I didn't mention it because it's even the same color as the old one. The new machine pulls that trailer like a dream and has a bit of a growl. Not so great on gas mileage, but for a vehicle that spends most of its time in the garage its all good.

So thankful that in the good and the bad times God sends his angels...even in the times we didn't realize we needed them, they were there. (Photo also taken on our last camp trip.)
