Nine year old Kaite and crooked Kammy

Our little Kaiterbugs is now 9 years old! She had a fun party with sack lunches and a cake made of donuts.

She's such an itty bitty. Her heart is huge though and filled with love.

She enjoys singing and writing songs about Jesus, playing with her kitten and she LOVES elephants!

I got this big guy last year on clearance after Valentine's Day. She was thrilled! She also got some paper dolls and a water baby doll. She is quite the little mommy type.

Rick and I made this little VW bus out of a cardboard box for her kitty, Gigi.

We found out this week that Kammy will have to be fitted for a scoliosis brace and will have to wear it 20/7 until she quits growing. Probably a year to a year and a half. Her curvature had nearly doubled in the last six months. She is growing so fast right now and will soon be taller than Kayla and I.  The will greatly increase her chances of avoiding surgery and is supposed to ease pain and risk of degenerative disease later in life. She had such a great attitude about it that the doctor said he almost cried. Braces are hot, itchy and uncomfortable. She said she will manage somehow as long as she can continue to ride. Speaking of riding, at her lesson yesterday, she began doing a few jumps and was thrilled to start helping train the new baby paint foal. He's just five days old here.

Well, that's it for today. Lots going on here....it's almost the end of school and almost time to plant the garden. Springtime is so beautiful. Every time the seasons change its my new favorite time of year. Too bad my body doesn't agree...my white counts have gone down again and my lymphocytes. Its as if my body is constantly fighting a virus of some kind but they can't figure out why/where.
