Independence Day 2014

Tradition dictates that we attend the Greenleaf 4th of July parade. This was Kammy's 4th year to ride in the parade, and this year she was back on Annie. Her very first parade ride and now her very own horse! Kammy has learned a lot and can ride alone very well. Annie, however, has been experiencing some strange horsey hormones lately and is very frisky, so for the peace of mind of all involved, she was led by Lisa and daddy was also there to supervise. Daddy is really enjoying the whole horse business and is learning a lot too.

Kaite looked very adorable with her star hair do.

Kaderick was thrilled to see the firetrucks. He even got to look inside and stand on the front bumper. He loves fire uckas! Little boys love things that make noise. Smile.

Kayla and Kalli decided it would be fun to be in the parade this year as well. The parade theme this year, was "Agriculture Then and Now." Kalli represented the "then" part of the equation, and Kayla the "now." Kalli carried an antique watering pot and Kayla a new fangled sprinkler head.

And they pulled little sister in an antique wagon full of garden produce.

They were excited and surprised to win 1st place in costume.

Little man standing by the wagon. The girls made the adorable little banner.

We also made some fun cake pops using our new to us "Baby Cakes cake pop maker." We'd looked at them in the store with the $45 price tag, so were happy to find one one day while thrifting for $2.25! It really worked great!

Of course, it's always great to spend time with friends, family and community. We enjoyed a BBQ complete with all the trimmings at my parents house. It was such a warm day--and so much fun, but now it is time to re-charge those batteries!

The Dickinsons

So cute. Loved the little star hair-do.

And the pic of your little boy after his batteries ran out is just precious. =)
