Hawaii
Rick recently had to travel to Hawaii for business. His company was kind enough to give him a nice travel allowance enabling us to take some of the family along. Kayla felt like she needed to stay here and work and help grandma (especially on dialysis days) so we gave the rest of the kids the option to stay or go. Kaite hates to travel because she gets so sick and Kammy didn't want to leave Kaite without a playmate, so she chose to stay home too. That left Kalli, Kaderick and myself boarding the plane along with daddy for the very long trip across the ocean. We were there about 2 1/2 weeks. We didn't have a ton of play time because this was a working trip after all, but the weekends were ours and Independence Day as well. We were able to get in a little shopping, lots of beach time, a tour of Pearl Harbor, Dole Pineapple Plantation, a hike in the real jungle, local farmers markets and some fine Hawaiian dining experiences.
