Anniversary : A time to celebrate the beauty, gift, and the blessing ofenduring love.

We ate at the Sandbar Riverhouse for our 17th Anniversary. It is the white building in the background of this photo.

 

We went a bit earlier than our reservations to take advantage of the "golden hour" for a couple several photos on the river.

 

It's just starting to feel like spring is around the corner and it was so nice to get out and enjoy the fresh evening air.

 

Marsing is a itty bitty country town just a few miles from my parents house in Greenleaf so we were able to leave the "littles" and "getting bigs" with them for a couple of hours.

 

We enjoyed walking in the little park between the river and the riverhouse.

 

The sunset was glorious!

 

Just across the river lies Lizard Butte. See the lizard? Lizard Butte boasts a lovely white cross and is home to an Easter Sunrise Service early each Easter morning!

 

The area here is rich in orchards and wineries.

 

The Snake is a major river of the greater Pacific Northwest in the United States. At 1,078 miles long, it is the largest tributary of the Columbia River, the largest North American river that empties into the Pacific Ocean.

The Snake River runs along the bottom of the deepest gorge in North America -- over a mile and a half drop! It varies in depth from 1-2 ft to 150 or more feet.

 

 

At sunset, the scenery changes here from one second to the next.

 

The river--without us to mar it's rugged beauty.
